Piyush Goyal met Director General WTO and Mr. Diego Aponte, Group President MSC Cargo at Zurich

ZURICH : Union Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal met Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Director General WTO in Zurich. They have discussed the various ongoing negotiations at the multilateral forum and the progress achieved since the 13th Ministerial Conference held in Abu Dhabi earlier this year. Goyal conveyed India’s commitment to helping achieve meaningful outcomes and ensuring free & fair trade among member nations.

Piyush Goyal added that he had a fruitful interaction with Mr. Lukas Brosi, CEO of Zurich Airport, they have explored opportunities to further enhance airport infrastructure in India and collaborate on advancing ancillary air services.

Moreover, he got delighted to meet a group of prominent members of the Indian diaspora in Zurich. He appreciated their rich contributions to the Swiss economy and to strengthening Indo-Swiss ties. He also urged them to invest in India and enable the exchange of best practices of Swiss innovation as immense possibilities have opened with the signing of the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement.

Piyush Goyal held a meeting with Mr. Diego Aponte, Group President at MSC Cargo, a renowned global container shipping & logistics group with a significant presence in India. At Zurich, they discussed potential collaborations with the Indian industry and the growth of container shipping & Indian-Flag Vessels.
