Piyush Goyal says that Govt estimates Rs 6,800 cr investment in PM MITRA park in Indore
DHAR : Commerce and Textiles Minister Shri Piyush Goyal on Sunday said that about 20 investors have presented an ‘Intention to invest’ letter worth ₹6,850 Crore is expected in the Prime Minister Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in Madhya Pradesh and ₹8,675 crore in other parts of the state.
The central government had announced plans to set up seven mega textile parks under the PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) scheme. The scheme was approved with an outlay of ₹4,445 crore for a period of seven years upto 2027-28.
” Dhar [district of Madhya Pradesh] is primarily Adivasi district. Dhar PM MITRA park was decided by the central and the state government together. Several governments came but no one was sensitive towards the problems of this area. But this government is considerate of the problems faced in backward areas. The park will help create employment and will help boost the profits earned by farmers “ commerce minister Piyush Goyal said.
In addition to Madhya Pradesh, these parks are being established in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh.
“Farmers and businesses will benefit from this park, which is a result of the double-engine government in the state. Investment of ₹6,847 crore is expected in this park,” Goyal added.
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Around 150 investors from across India attended the event.
Naren Goenka, Chairman AEPC said that ,MP has a big base of cotton fiber and yarn, which will help the park use raw material at affordable cost and a textiles park at MP will thrust India’s dominance as global textile leader as this cluster-based approach will enhance the quality and competitiveness of our products, boost exports and would create massive employment opportunities along with the investment.
