Piyush Goyal visits Dholera SIR stall at VGRC 2026, highlights smart city’s investor potential
RAJKOT : Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, visited the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) stall during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) 2026 for the Kutch and Saurashtra region, held in Rajkot. The stall showcased Dholera’s key features, strategic advantages, and strong value proposition for domestic and global investors.
Officials from Dholera SIR Authority provided a comprehensive briefing to the Hon’ble Minister on the city’s plug-and-play industrial ecosystem, world-class infrastructure, and future-ready urban planning. Shri Goyal interacted with the team, appreciated the progress achieved so far, and encouraged officials to further accelerate development momentum to attract large-scale investments.
Dholera SIR, India’s first Greenfield Industrial Smart City and the country’s first Semicon City, is rapidly emerging as a key catalyst for India’s semiconductor and advanced manufacturing ecosystem. The city is being developed with a strong focus on sustainability, robust utility infrastructure, and seamless multimodal connectivity, positioning it as a globally competitive industrial destination.

VGRC 2026, held on January 11 and 12 in Rajkot, focused on renewable energy, sustainability, and future-ready infrastructure, while facilitating structured B2B, B2G, and G2G interactions to strengthen regional and global partnerships.
