PM Modi meets with World Leaders on the sidelines of the G7 Summit
APULIA : Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met with the World leaders on the sidelines of the G7 Summit here in Italy. Italian Prime Minister Ms. Giorgia Meloni welcomed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi with a ‘namaste’ at the G7 Summit. “I had a great meeting with PM Giorgia Meloni. I thanked her for inviting India to participate in the G7 and for the wonderful organization. We discussed how to strengthen Italy-India relations in sectors such as trade, energy, defense, telecommunications and more. Our countries will continue to collaborate in futuristic areas including biofuels, food processing and critical minerals,”PM Modi said after meeting her.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met with U.S. President Mr. Joe Biden on the sidelines of the G7 Summit here in Italy, after healthy discussions of global trade with one another, PM Modi stated “It’s always a pleasure to meet Joe Biden, and India and USA will keep working together to further global good.”
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Rishi Sunak of the United Kingdom on the sidelines of the G7 Summit here in Italy. PM Sunak congratulated PM on his historic third consecutive term. The two leaders reaffirmed the shared commitment of both countries to further strengthen bilateral relations. The leaders discussed the implementation of the Roadmap 2030 and expressed happiness on progress in all areas of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership including regular high level political consultations, defence and security, trade and economic collaboration, critical and high technology sectors and people-to-people ties. They also expressed satisfaction with the progress made in the Free Trade Agreement negotiations between the two countries. Both leaders also discussed regional and multilateral matters of mutual interest. PM Modi extended his best wishes to the people of the United Kingdom as they prepare for general elections next month.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and President of the French Republic H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron, held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Apulia, Italy. PM thanked President Macron for his warm wishes on assuming office for the third consecutive term. The two leaders reviewed India-France bilateral relations, focusing on the ‘Horizon 2047′ Roadmap and the Indo-Pacific Roadmap. Discussions included cooperation in defence, nuclear, space, education, climate action, digital public infrastructure, connectivity and cultural initiatives such as the National Museum partnership and enhancing people-to-people ties. They agreed to further intensify strategic defence cooperation with increased focus on ‘Make in India’. They also agreed to expand cooperation in the realms of AI, critical and emerging technologies, energy and sports, while working closely in context of the forthcoming AI Summit and United Nations Oceans Conference, both to be hosted in France in 2025.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with the President of Ukraine, H.E. Mr. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Italy.Both leaders had a productive meeting in which they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations. They also exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and the upcoming Summit on Peace being hosted by Switzerland.
PM Modi met other great leaders of the world too. After meeting with the Pope he said,” Met Pope Francis on the sidelines of the G7 Summit. I admire his commitment to serve people and make our planet better. Also invited him to visit India“.
