PM Modi to visit to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Austria
NEW DELHI : PM Modi will pay a two-day visit to Russia to attend the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit that will review the entire range of multifaceted ties between the two countries. PM likely to attend the 22nd India-Russia summit scheduled on July 8 and 9. At the meet, PM Modi, along with Russian President Vladimir Putin, will review bilateral ties between the two nations, including in areas like defence, investment, energy cooperation, education and culture.
Modi’s interactions would include a face-to-face with the Indian community in Russia. Putin will host a private dinner for Modi. The two leaders will share perspectives on “regional and global developments of mutual interest”, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said. The PM will also lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Kremlin. Thereafter, he will visit Rosatom pavilion at the exhibition venue in Moscow. Restricted-level talks between the two leaders will be followed by delegation-level talks led by Modi and Putin. “The issue of early discharge of Indian nationals who have been misled into the service of the Russian Army is expected to figure in the discussions,” Kwatra added.
Thereafter, PM will travel to Austria. This will be the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Austria in 41 years. Modi will call on the President of Austria and hold restricted, delegation-level talks, as also a high-level business engagement in Austria. Modi will also hold talks with Chancellor of Austria Karl Nehammer.
