SINGAPORE : PSA International has completed its inaugural disclosure submission to CDP for the 2023 climate change assessment and achieved an overall ‘B’ rating based on environmental information about PSA’s Ports and PORT+ businesses. The rating assures that PSA has addressed the environmental impacts of the disclosed portfolio and reflects good environmental management.

CDP is a global non-profit organisation that runs the world’s leading environmental disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states, and regions to manage their environmental impacts. The disclosure scores range from A to D-, indicating the level of action reported by the company to assess and manage its environmental impacts for the given reporting period.

Head of Group Process Excellence and Head of Ports Process Excellence Goh Mia Hock said, “Our disclosure to CDP is critical as it subjects PSA to a reputable international rating exercise and our climate change initiatives to stringent external scrutiny. It affirms PSA’s efforts in meeting the increasing demand for environmental transparency from financial institutions, customers, and stakeholders. By disclosing data over consecutive years, we will have a clearer overview of the trajectory of PSA’s sustainability journey.”

More than 23,000 companies voluntarily disclosed their data through CDP in 2023. PSA’s overall rating of ‘B’ is higher than the global average of ‘C’ amongst disclosed companies, as well as the intermodal transport & logistics sector average of ‘C’.

The overall rating takes into account several categories and a company’s corresponding scores in each category. Among the categories evaluated by CDP, PSA received a noteworthy ‘A-’ score for its emission reduction initiatives and low carbon products – a testament to our ongoing efforts in decarbonising the port and port adjacencies ecosystem.
