PSA International welcomes new Group CEO, Ong Kim Pong

SINGAPORE : Mr Kim Pong ONG has assumed the position of PSA International Group CEO on 1 March, and is a member of its Board. PSA is a leading global port operator and supply chain partner with affiliated businesses in marine, logistics and digital services in almost 50 countries around the world.

Kim Pong said, “PSA has grown from strength to strength over the years and we are transforming our portfolio of ports into a network of cargo hubs for the global supply chain. I am honoured to be entrusted this role to lead PSA in its next lap with the Senior Management team, Staff and Unions. I am excited by the potential of what we can achieve together!”

As one of PSA’s pioneer leaders, Kim Pong has played a vital role in contributing to the expansion of the Group’s global port network and services as well as furthering its sustainability and digitalisation initiatives. From 2001 to 2004, he was instrumental in the successful merger of two of the biggest port operators in Belgium to form Hesse-Noord Natie N.V. (HNN) which laid the foundation for PSA’s second flagship operations in Belgium. Subsequently, Kim Pong distinguished himself as CEO of Mersin International Port (MIP) in Türkiye, where he helped to establish MIP as a key gateway port in the eastern Mediterranean. From 2010 to 2015, Kim Pong held the position of Regional CEO of Northeast Asia where he managed PSA’s portfolio in China, Hong Kong and Korea. For the last eight years, Kim Pong has been PSA’s Regional CEO for Southeast Asia. Under his leadership, PSA Singapore has strengthened its position as one of Asia’s pre-eminent ports of call and launched the first phase of Tuas Port.
