NAVI MUMBAI: PSA Mumbai marked a significant milestone in enhancing international trade connectivity with the maiden arrival of the India Mediterranean (INDME) service. The service’s inaugural vessel, MV Jolly Verde, operated by Ignazio Messina & C., berthed at the port on 22 September 2025, informs a communique.

The INDME service is set to strengthen trade links across continents by connecting key ports in the Mediterranean, Red Sea, Indian Subcontinent, and Middle East. This strategic route is expected to facilitate smoother cargo movement and bolster commercial exchanges between Europe, West Asia, and South Asia, enhancing the port’s role as a pivotal hub in global shipping networks.

PSA Mumbai highlighted that the new service aligns with the port’s vision of expanding its international connectivity and supporting India’s growing maritime trade ambitions. The addition of the INDME service is anticipated to provide shippers with faster transit times, improved reliability, and greater operational efficiency.

With the increasing demand for seamless global trade routes, PSA Mumbai continues to position itself as a critical gateway for international commerce, reinforcing India’s presence in global maritime logistics.
