Ravish Kumar Singh, IRTS, takes charge as the Deputy Chairperson of JNPA
MUMBAI : Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), India’s largest container-handling port, is pleased to announce that Shri Ravish Kumar Singh, IRTS, has assumed charge as the Deputy Chairperson of JNPA.
Upon his arrival at JNPA, he was warmly welcomed by Shri Gaurav Dayal, IAS, Chairperson, JNPA, in the presence of the Heads of Departments. The leadership extended their best wishes as he embarks on this important role in steering JNPA’s operational excellence, digital transformation, and future expansion.
Mr. Singh holds a Engineering degree and brings with him a distinguished and diverse professional background spanning the Indian Railways as well as the private sector. Prior to joining JNPA, he served as the Deputy Chief Operations Manager, Central Railway, a role he has held since Sept. 2023. In his various roles over South East Central & Central Railway led key operational strategies, and efficiency initiatives across one of India’s busiest railway zones.
In addition to his extensive government experience, Shri Singh has also contributed to leading private-sector organisations, including Infosys Technologies, Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL), and NTPC Ltd., adding a strong technology and industry-oriented perspective to his leadership profile.
With his multi-sectoral expertise, strategic outlook, and operational acumen, Mr. Singh’s appointment is expected to further strengthen JNPA’s commitment to efficiency, innovation, and stakeholder-centric growth.

He was greeted by Shri Gaurav Dayal, IAS, Chairperson, JNPA, HOD’s and JNPA officials. During the interaction, Mr. Singh expressed his enthusiasm to contribute towards the growth and modernization of JNPA and shared his vision to further strengthen the port’s efficiency, sustainability, and global competitiveness.
