Redefining Multimodal Logistics : 1500 km delivery of super ODC over sea & rivers & challenging terrain

MUMBAI : Prism Logistics Pvt. Ltd. is delighted to share the successful completion of a highly challenging logistics operation for the Panipat Refinery Project. This remarkable endeavor involved the transportation of Super Over-Dimensional Cargo (ODC) through a meticulously planned multimodal operation.

The journey began at Hazira, where the cargo was carefully loaded onto a barge and transported to Kandla Port. Upon arrival, the cargo was rolled off and moved by road to the Panipat Refinery using specialized axles designed to handle heavy-lift consignments. Covering a distance of 1500 kilometers, the operation required seamless coordination, precise execution, and extensive planning.

This project presented unique engineering challenges, including obtaining various permissions from concerned and government authorities to ensure safe transit. The operation required shutdowns of HT and LT power lines and multiple railway line, the construction of river bypasses along the route. One of the key highlights was the crossing of canals and rivers using a specially designed and built steel bridge, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of the cargo.
