Saudi Ports Authority announces Electronic Integration of Dammam and Riyadh Ports

RIYADH : The Saudi Ports Authority has finalized the electronic integration of the King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam with Riyadh Dry Port, set to streamline operations and billing for containers transported via railway.

Starting April 15, 2025, at 1:00 a.m., this integration will enable cargo owners to manage payments for charges accrued from container transportation between these two points prior to loading. As per the details shared with Akhbaar24, the new system mandates cargo owners to register for an account on the Saudi Ports Authority’s Commercial Invoice System via their official website. This account is essential for generating and settling invoices and completing necessary clearance procedures.

The Authority has outlined that cargo owners have the option to delegate these tasks to authorized customs brokers who can register and handle the procedures on their behalf.

This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of container transfers between Dammam’s King Abdulaziz Port and Riyadh Dry Port, ensuring a more seamless and integrated logistical operation. The move reflects the Saudi Ports Authority’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve trade facilitation and operational effectiveness across its network.
