SCI to conduct session on maritime financing & insurance at MIS 2021

The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd (SCI) along with NMPT and SDCL will be conducting the Breakout Session 3 on the topic “Opportunities in Maritime Financing and Insurance” at the Maritime India Summit 2021 (MIS 2021), to be held virtually from March 2 to 4. The session, to be chaired by Mrs H. K. Joshi, C&MD, SCI, is scheduled on March 3, 2021 from 11 am to 12.30 pm, informed a release.


The session aims to highlight the high investment potential of the Indian maritime sector in line with the Government of India’s Maritime Vision 2030. It will cover the key trends and developments in maritime banking and financial services, financing of ports, port terminals and port-based industries, financing of coastal, inland waterways and allied infrastructure, as well as the challenges and solutions related to ship financing and financing the revival of the Indian shipbuilding sector. A panel discussion by various industry stalwarts on how India can be made into a reinsurance hub will follow.


The Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways is organising Maritime India Summit 2021, the 2nd edition, jointly in association with FICCI as Industrial Partner and EY as Knowledge Partner.


The summit, with 24 partner countries, will showcase more than 400 projects and is expected to see participation from delegates across the globe. The Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi will inaugurate MIS 2021 on March 2, 2021, the release .
