SCI welcomes ‘MT Desh Vibhor’ following safe transit through Strait of Hormuz
NEW DELHI : The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. (SCI) successfully welcomed its tanker MT Desh Vibhor at Sikka Port in Gujarat following the vessel’s safe transit through the strategically significant Strait of Hormuz, underscoring the resilience of India’s maritime operations amid challenging global shipping conditions.
An SCI team, led by General Manager (Fleet Personnel) Mr. J. Purushottam, received the vessel upon its arrival at Sikka, marking the successful completion of an important voyage through one of the world’s busiest and most sensitive maritime trade routes.
The corporation expressed its sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India, for their continuous guidance and support in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of Indian merchant vessels.
SCI also acknowledged the exemplary professionalism and commitment demonstrated by the vessel’s Master, Chief Engineer, officers and crew, whose dedication ensured the safe completion of the voyage while maintaining the highest standards of safety, operational excellence and maritime compliance.
