SMPA & IIT (ISM) Dhanbad join forces for Greener Future

KOLKATA: Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (SMPA) and Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad have taken a significant stride in their historic partnership.

In a key consultative meeting, Shri Rathendra Raman, Chairperson, SMP Kolkata, and Prof. Sukumar Mishra, Director, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, met to explore promising avenues of collaboration.

The joint focus- Developing a future-ready Green Hydrogen ecosystem at the Kolkata Dock System and the Haldia Dock Complex.

By combining the maritime expertise of SMP Kolkata with the academic and research excellence of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, we aim to drive sustainable innovation and chart a cleaner & greener pathway for India’s maritime sector.

This collaboration marks a commitment to a sustainable future powered by clean energy.
