Udupi CSL launches 70T Bollard Pull Green Tug UY 173 for Polestar Maritime

UDIPI : Marking a significant milestone in India’s shipbuilding journey, Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (Udupi CSL), a subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited, has successfully launched the 70-ton Bollard Pull tug UY 173 for M/s. Polestar Maritime Limited.

Classed under the Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass), the tug represents a step forward in sustainable and efficient harbor vessel design. Built with advanced propulsion systems and enhanced maneuverability, UY 173 is tailored to meet the demanding requirements of modern port operations, including towing, berthing, and escort services.

The vessel incorporates eco-friendly design elements aimed at reducing emissions and improving fuel efficiency, supporting the maritime industry’s transition toward greener operations.
