V.O.C Port Authority recognised as 3rd Best Container Port Award at Viksit Bharat with Budget 2025 conclave

MUMBAI :  V.O.Chidambaranar Port Authority receives the 3rd Best Container Port Award ( in the category of ports handling 0.5 Million TEUs or above Containers) – Sagar Akalan Certificate – for Logistics Port Performance– from Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Ports Shipping and Waterways in presence of Mr. T K Ramachandran, IAS , Secretary, Ministry of Ports Shipping and Waterways and other senior officials of Ministry, representatives of maritime industry and trade at the Powering Blue Economy – Viksit Bharat with Budget 2025 conclave held at Mumbai.

V O C Port is the 2nd big Port in the state of Tamilnadu and is blessed with various advantages such as being an all weather port, a port having lowest operating ratio ( currently it’s around just 28%) among the major ports and is a port having excellent air , rail and road connectivity (handling long ODCs ( wind mill blades)). It’s also the green hydrogen hub and off shore wind mill hub of the country. Because of these features the cargo handling volume of the port is also continuously increasing and port is looking forward to being one of the significant cargo handling hubs of the country in the recent future.
