V.O.C Port records over one million tonne growth in cargo handling
TUTICORIN : V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOC Port), Tuticorin, has achieved a significant milestone by registering a cargo handling lead of more than one million metric tonnes over the previous financial year, underscoring its strong operational performance and growing importance in regional maritime trade.
As on 27th December 2025, the Port has handled 31.42 million tonnes of cargo, compared to 30.39 million tonnes handled during the corresponding period of FY 2024–25, recording a year-on-year growth of 3.39%.
This sustained growth reflects the Port Authority’s continued focus on operational efficiency, infrastructure optimization, and improved cargo evacuation systems. The performance also highlights VOC Port’s pivotal role in facilitating maritime trade and supporting industrial and commercial activities across South India.
