Vadhvan Port environment clearance Public Hearing held as per the direction of MoEFCC

MUMBAI : As a part of obtaining the Environment Clearance for the Development of Greenfield Port at Vadhvan, as per the directions of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), a Public Hearing was held at 21st December, 2023 at Daman as per additional ToR dated 02.06.2023. 

JNPA has identified sand borrow pit at around 50Kms to 60 Kms  in the Arabian Sea from the proposed Vadhvan Port and about 50 Kms from Daman Coast for obtaining 200 Million CuM sand by dredging to create land at the proposed Vadhvan Port. This Public Hearing at Daman was held by the Committee of the Pollution Control Board in presence of Dy.Collector of  Daman, Dadara & Nagar Haweli, which was attended by the various stakeholders and fisherman communities. 

The various concerns expressed by the stakeholders were addressed during the Public Hearing, which was went smoothly.  Minutes of Public Hearing shall be forwarded to MoEF for comprehensive Environment Clearance for Development of Vadhavan Port.
