Vibrant Gujarat Summit : PM Modi guarantees India will be among top three economies of the world

AHMEDABAD : Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, participating in the program marking the completion of 20 years of the ‘Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2023,’ on Wednesday guaranteed that India will be among the top three economies of the world.

Addressing the event in Ahmedabad, the Prime Minister recalled the journey of the 20 years of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit and said India will soon emerge global economic powerhouse.

“We are standing at such a phase that India will soon emerge as a global economic powerhouse,” he said and added, “It is my guarantee to you that in a few years from now, in front of your eyes, India will be among the top three economies of the world.” PM said.

“We organised Vibrant Gujarat to make the state a growth engine of India. After 2014, our aim has been to make India a global growth engine,” he added.

Success of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit

The Prime Minister, who was then Chief Minister of Gujarat, launched the summit on September 28, 2003 and since that year the Summit transformed to become a truly global event, attaining the status of being one of the most premier business summits in India.

PM Modi termed the 20 years of the summit as a “key milestone” in advancing the state’s growth.“When Vibrant Gujarat was started, there were no big hotels in Gujarat where foreign guests could stay. Even govt guesthouses used to get full and we used even University guesthouses…” PM Modi said.

“We not only redeveloped Gujarat but also thought about its future, we made ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ a key channel for this. ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ was made a channel to increase the self-confidence of Gujarat and a channel to speak to the world eye to eye,” the PM said.
