Visakhapatnam Port Authority handled highest ever cargo of 73.78 MMT ahead of FY 2023-24

VISAKHAPATNAM : Shri T. Venu Gopal, Secretary, Visakhapatnam Port Authority informed that the Port handled the highest ever record cargo of 73.78 Million Metric Tonnes well ahead of the financial year 2023-24 at 06.00 hrs., on 02.03.2024 in its 90 Years of Glorious Existence from the year 1933 duly surpassing the highest cargo handling volume of 73.75 MMT during the year 2022-23, according to a Press release.

This record has been achieved under the dynamic and able guidance of the Dr. M. Angamuthu, IAS, Chairperson, VPA, Deputy Chairperson, Heads of Departments and the entire VPA team.

Acclaiming the ever-highest record cargo handling performance by Visakhapatnam Port Authority, Chairperson commended Mr. B. Ratna Sekhar Rao. Traffic Manager, VPA and his team, Deputy Conservator, and all the Heads of Departments for their timely support and wished that 80.00 Million Metric Tons would be achieved in the current Financial Year 2023-24.
