VOC Port sets new benchmark with record handling of longest windmill blades in India

TUTICORIN : V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, Tuticorin, successfully handled windmill blades measuring an impressive 90.2 metres, the longest ever In India handled at the port—surpassing the previous record of 89.6 metres. Along with this VOC part also handled India ‘s largest Wind Turbine Generator of 5.3MW capacity. This milestone operation of blades and generator was executed from the vessel MV Da Gui for M/s Venwind Refex Power Ltd.

The vessel agency services were managed by M/s. Aacen Shipping Agencies Pvt. Ltd., stevedoring operations by M/s. Aasian Shipping Agencies, and sea transportation by M/s. COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers Co. Ltd. Customs clearance, shore handling, and transportation are being undertaken by M/s. NTC Logistics India Pvt. Ltd.

In addition to this record-breaking feat, the port also handled one of India’s largest Wind Turbine Generators with a capacity of 5.3 MW, further strengthening its position as a preferred gateway for renewable energy logistics.

The landmark operation was carried out from the vessel MV Da Gui for Venwind Refex Power Ltd.. The operation required meticulous planning, precision handling, and seamless coordination among all stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient discharge of the over-dimensional cargo.
