Wallem-managed Opal Leader wins NYK Line’s Car Carrier of the Year 2025 award

HONG KONG: Wallem Group, a leading global maritime partner, has secured NYK Line’s prestigious Car Carrier of the Year 2025 award in recognition of the performance of a vessel under Wallem technical management. NYK Line representatives presented the award to Captain S. U. Mazumder, Master of the 176-metre length MV Opal Leader at the Port of Yokohama, Japan.

Opal Leader met the award’s stringent criteria by demonstrating outstanding safety performance, avoiding operational delays, securing a Carbon Intensity Indicator rating of C or above, and receiving strong evaluations from port captains and operators.
