Wan Hai Lines names two new boxships
TAIPEI : Taiwan’s container carrier Wan Hai Lines held ship naming ceremonies for its new container ships, Wan Hai 372 and Wan Hai 376.
The two vessels are in the series of 3,055 TEU boxships built by Japan Marine United Corporation ARIAKE Shipyard.
TSENG, LING-LIN, spouse of Steve Chang, Executive Vice President Commercial Department of Oriental Petrochemical (Taiwan) Co., Ltd. and YINGYING CHENG, spouse of AKITATSU SUZUKI, President of UNEI SHOJI CO., LTD, christened these two vessels respectively during the ceremony.
Wan Hai Lines has ordered a third batch of twelve 3,055 TEU vessels from Japan Marine United Corporation. Wan Hai 372 and Wan Hai 376 are the 8th and 11th vessels in this series of 3,055 TEU container ships.
This vessel series uses LSFO (Low Sulfur Fuel Oil) and is equipped with new energy-saving equipment, while it takes energy efficiency and environment-friendly aspects into account. Besides, all the ships delivered are also certified with “Smart Ship” notations.
These new smart vessels are part of the company’s efforts to pursue fleet upgrading and enhance its commitment to quality and eco-friendly shipping services.
In addition to naming the newbuildings, Wan Hai also made a charity donation of necessities to a charity organization in Japan – Yudehikaridoen.
