Western Carriers (India) Limited bags order worth Rs 27.73 Cr from Jindal Stainless Limited

AHMEDABAD : Western Carriers (India) Limited has secured a significant work order from Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) for the hiring and trip-based movement of trailers for container transportation within JSL’s plant in Jajpur. This domestic contract, valued at approximately Rs 27.73 crore, is for two years. The order specifically entails providing trailers for internal container movement, highlighting Western Carriers’ role in supporting JSL’s in-plant logistics operations.

Earlier, the company secured a significant consolidated finished goods material handling contract from Bharat Aluminium Company Limited, a domestic entity. This contract, valued at approximately Rs 70 crore (including taxes), involves material handling, loading and unloading, stacking, and transportation with shifting. The work order is to be executed over 36 months, highlighting a substantial and long-term engagement for Western Carriers.

Incorporated in March 2011, Western Carriers (India) Limited is a multi-modal, rail-focused, 4PL asset-light logistics company. They provide a comprehensive suite of 3PL/4PL services, including courier services, air freight, water freight, warehousing, project logistics, and road/rail transport. Their value-added services cover the entire supply chain, from production to customs clearance and multimodal transport, ensuring tailored logistics solutions. Operating on an asset-light model, they selectively own assets only for unique customer needs that cannot be met by third-party providers.

The company has a market cap of over Rs 1,100 crore. The stock is up by 77.6 per cent from its 52-week low is Rs 65.10 per share. The shares of the company have a PE of 17x whereas the industry PE is 28x with an ROE of 11 per cent and an ROCE is 13 per cent.
