CONCOR unveils Green Cold Chain Breakthrough: 50-Hour Temperature control without Diesel
NEW DELHI : In a major leap towards sustainable logistics, the Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) has achieved a significant milestone in cold chain transportation with the successful deployment of IceBattery Technology, offering temperature control for up to 50 hours without the use of diesel generator (DG) sets.
This eco-innovative solution has been a proven success in Japan for over 16 years and has now completed four impactful years in India, driving efficiency and environmental responsibility in the logistics sector.
Key highlights of this cold chain innovation include:
- Temperature maintenance between 2°C to 25°C for up to 50 hours without diesel dependency.
- Over 30 successful pharmaceutical and agricultural shipments, ensuring cargo integrity and safety.
- Use of hybrid containers and trucks optimized for extended hauls across varied geographies.
- Integration of real-time GPS, temperature, humidity, and shock monitoring systems for full shipment visibility and control.
- Pharma-certified containers and vehicles, meeting rigorous compliance and quality standards.
Beyond operational efficiency, the initiative significantly contributes to reduction in diesel consumption and CO₂ emissions, aligning with India’s broader green logistics and climate goals.
With this development, CONCOR reinforces its position as a frontrunner in innovative, sustainable cold chain logistics, making a compelling case for green transformation in the transport and supply chain ecosystem.
