FIEO partners with Amazon India to boost E-Commerce exports for MSMEs
NEW DELHI : The Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amazon India to enhance E-Commerce export capabilities for India’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
As part of the agreement, the two organisations will jointly set up an e-commerce export task force to develop a policy and infrastructure roadmap aimed at supporting MSME exporters. The partnership will also involve organising awareness programmes and capacity-building workshops to promote seller enablement across the country.
According to Srinidhi Kalvapudi, Head of Amazon Global Selling India, the collaboration is in line with Amazon’s wider objective of facilitating US $ 80 billion in cumulative e-commerce exports from India by the year 2030.
FIEO will identify and nominate high-potential sellers and manufacturers in sectors such as handicrafts, home textiles, wellness products and packaged foods. Amazon will assist these businesses with onboarding, regulatory compliance and scaling their presence on international marketplaces. The partnership will focus on strategic product categories including home linen and décor, personal care, apparel and toys. Additionally, Amazon and FIEO will establish local offline seller communities to encourage peer-to-peer learning and improve access to service providers.
