VoC Port sets new benchmark in Green Energy

TUTICORIN : V.O.Chidambaranar Port Authority, Tuticorin has reached a new landmark in its sustainability journey, generating a record-breaking 16,23,461 units of renewable energy in July 2025 – its highest monthly output to date.

This remarkable performance surpasses the previous best of 15,30,614 units, achieved just a month earlier in June 2025.

The consistent upward trend in clean energy generation reaffirms the Port’s strong focus on environmental stewardship and its leadership in promoting renewable energy adoption in the maritime sector.

The July 2025 benchmark refers to VOC Port’s record-breaking energy generation in June 2025 (1.53 million units) This forms part of a broader, multi-pronged green strategy encompassing renewable power, green hydrogen, green bunkering, infrastructure upgrades, mobility improvements, and environmental policy.

This achievement showcases VOC Port’s transformation from a conventional maritime hub into a flagbearer of sustainable maritime infrastructure. Its strides in renewable energy and green hydrogen not only align with India’s Maritime India Vision 2030 and net-zero goals by 2070, but also set a precedent for ports globally seeking to decarbonize operations.
