India-Saudi Arabia agree on maritime co-operation and strengthen ties in shipping, ports and logistics

NEW DELHI : Union Minister of Shipping, Ports and Waterways Shri Sarbananda Sonowal held a productive virtual meeting with H.E. Saleh Al Jassar, Minister of Transport & Logistics Services of Saudi Arabia on 20th August, Wednesday.

Both are agreed to establish an institutional mechanism on maritime cooperation to strengthen ties in shipping, ports and logistics, marking a new chapter in a historic partnership.

Under the visionary guidance of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modiji and HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, India-Saudi relations are entering a new era of cooperation and shared prosperity.

Our Maritime India Vision 2030 and Amrit Kaal Vision 2047 align perfectly with Saudi Vision 2030, creating immense opportunities in ports, shipping & green hydrogen. We invite Saudi partners to explore the vast opportunities in India’s $1 trillion maritime investment landscape and look forward to welcoming a strong Saudi delegation to the India Maritime Week in October 2025“, Shri Sonowal added.
