JNPA sets new record with highest-ever monthly throughput in September 2025
MUMBAI : Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has achieved a historic operational milestone in September 2025, handling 648,907 Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) of container traffic — the highest ever recorded in a single month. Alongside this, the port registered an impressive overall cargo throughput of 8.36 million metric tonnes (MMT), underscoring its growing efficiency and capacity as India’s leading container port.
This achievement reflects JNPA’s continued focus on enhancing operational performance, infrastructure development, and digital integration. The record-breaking performance was driven by sustained growth in EXIM (Export-Import) trade, improved terminal productivity, and the port’s robust multimodal connectivity.
Officials attributed the milestone to close collaboration with stakeholders, including terminal operators, shipping lines, and logistics partners. JNPA has also been advancing its ease of doing business initiatives and sustainability efforts, further strengthening its position as a global maritime hub.
With this latest achievement, JNPA continues to set new benchmarks for India’s maritime sector, contributing significantly to the nation’s logistics competitiveness and economic growth.
With consistent growth and record-breaking performance, JNPA continues to reinforce its position as India’s leading container port, driving efficiency, sustainability, and global trade connectivity.
