Nauticworx opens its doors to charterers worldwide – at no cost
ROTTERDAM: Nauticworx, the pioneering digital platform for offshore workboat chartering, announces major updates. Incorporating feedback from the market since its inception in September 2024, the platform has not only attracted large fleets and projects, but has now also become faster, and easier to use. In addition, charterers can now – costless – join and enjoy the full benefits of the platform. With this step, Nauticworx aims to enhance the platform’s practical value: find available workboats on short notice and within a short distance, thereby reducing the carbon footprint of offshore (wind), and marine construction projects, and stimulating local economies.
Launched at SMM Hamburg last year, Nauticworx was created to tackle one of the offshore industry’s longstanding inefficiencies: fragmented vessel chartering. By enabling seamless collaboration between fleet owners, charterers, and brokers through a smart matchmaking system, the platform simplifies the spot chartering process while operating on a transparent subscription model.
The scale-up has devised an algorithm to connect offshore support vessels with projects located within 800 nautical miles, anywhere in the world, reducing transit distances, fuel consumption, and emissions. With this, Nauticworx aims to make operational efficiency and sustainability part of the same solution.
Driving efficiency and visibility in a fragmented market
By removing the cost barrier for charterers, Nauticworx aims to significantly increase platform engagement and accelerate the pace of digital adoption across the sector. The implications are clear:
- Fleet owners benefit from increased visibility and exposure to a broader pool of potential clients in the vicinity of their vessel.
- Charterers gain streamlined access to available vessels when they need them, improving booking speed and operational agility.
- Brokers can leverage the platform’s matchmaking capabilities to facilitate faster, more targeted deals.
“This is a pivotal moment for offshore chartering,” says Friso Visser, Co-founder and Managing Director of Nauticworx: “In the past months several early adopters have joined the platform. Think of companies like ADNOC, Heerema, Jan de Nul, Van Oord, Saipem and many local fleet owners. They either publish their real-time project needs for temporary workboats, or list vessels with regional availability in the charter market. We are very thankful for their trust, for giving Nauticworx a chance to prove itself. By now opening the platform to charterers at no cost, hence, relinquishing a part of our original business model, we’re fostering a more dynamic, efficient, and sustainable marketplace. We really aim to provide benefits to every stakeholder in the value chain.”
About Nauticworx
Nauticworx is a digital platform dedicated to providing a seamless solution for chartering offshore support vessels and workboats.
Fleet owners, charterers and brokers can publish projects and/or vessels anonymously. Charterers only receive proposals from companies they choose, and only connect with the right people when they are ready. The same goes for fleet owners offering a vessel. Once both parties agree, they share their details securely and confidently.
With a focus on efficiency, sustainability, security – and respect for the players in the ecosystem – Nauticworx connects (anonymously!) fleet owners, charterers, and brokers with the right vessels at the right time.
