MoPSW Secretary Reviews Progress on National Maritime Heritage Complex
NEW DELHI: Shri Vijay Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW), chaired the 3rd Steering Committee Meeting of the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC), reaffirming the Government’s commitment to preserving and promoting India’s rich maritime heritage.
During the meeting, senior officials reviewed the current progress of NMHC initiatives and outlined strategic pathways to accelerate development of this iconic project, envisioned to showcase India’s centuries-old maritime strength and global maritime contributions.
The NMHC aims to be a world-class cultural and educational destination, offering an enriching experience that reflects India’s role as a maritime powerhouse through history. With its state-of-the-art exhibits, interactive storytelling, and heritage conservation elements, the complex is poised to inspire curiosity, research, and national pride in future generations.
The Steering Committee emphasized collaborative efforts among stakeholder ministries and implementing agencies to ensure timely execution and global positioning of the NMHC as a landmark institution.
