DG Shipping officials visit Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited
MUMBAI : On December 23, 2025, senior officials from the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) visited Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) in Mumbai for a series of strategic discussions on the future of shipbuilding in India.
The visit was led by Shri Sushil Mansing Khopde, IPS, Additional Director General, along with Shri Ravi Kumar Moka, Ship Surveyor cum Deputy Director General (Tech.), Naval Architecture Wing. The delegation engaged with MDL’s leadership team to discuss upcoming initiatives, emerging opportunities, and pathways to further strengthen India’s shipbuilding ecosystem.
The officials also held detailed conversations with key representatives from MDL to explore collaborative avenues aligned with the nation’s maritime vision. The discussions underscored a shared commitment to technological advancement, capacity enhancement, and positioning India as a global force in modern ship construction.
Such engagements reflect the growing synergy between national regulatory authorities and leading shipyards to advance India’s maritime ambitions under the Maritime India Vision 2030 framework.
