Five major announcements for Gujarat by Mukesh Ambani in Rajkot

RAJKOT : Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Sunday made five major announcements outlining an ambitious roadmap for Gujarat’s economic, technological, and social transformation, while addressing dignitaries at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit in Rajkot. Beginning his address with “Jai Somnath,” Ambani said the positive energy from Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s prayers at Somnath was resonating across Gujarat and the nation.

Praising the Prime Minister’s presence at the first-ever regional Vibrant Gujarat Summit after two decades of the flagship event in Gandhinagar, Ambani described the Rajkot conclave as a “true force multiplier” for the development of Saurashtra and Kutch. He paid a personal tribute to the region, recalling that his father, Dhirubhai Ambani, was a son of Saurashtra, born in Chorwad.

Against this backdrop, Ambani outlined five firm commitments from Reliance that he said would shape Gujarat’s future and contribute to India’s growth story.

1. Doubling investment in GujaratAmbani announced that Reliance, already Gujarat’s largest investor, will double its investment in the state to ₹7 lakh crore over the next five years. Over the past five years, the group has invested more than ₹3.5 lakh crore in Gujarat. The expanded investment, he said, will create exponential employment opportunities, sustainable livelihoods, and greater prosperity for Gujaratis and Indians alike.

2. Global leadership in clean energy and green materialsAt Jamnagar, Reliance is building what Ambani described as the world’s largest integrated clean energy ecosystem. This will span solar energy, battery storage, green hydrogen, green fertilisers, sustainable aviation fuel, maritime fuels, and advanced materials. Jamnagar, once known as a global hub for hydrocarbon energy exports, is set to emerge as India’s largest exporter of green energy and green materials in the coming years.

3. Transforming Kutch into a global clean energy hubReliance will develop multi-gigawatt, utility-scale solar projects in Kutch, among the largest in the world. These projects will deliver round-the-clock clean power through advanced storage solutions and modern grid integration, reinforcing Gujarat’s leadership in renewable energy and powering India’s green future.

4. Making Gujarat India’s artificial intelligence powerhouseAmbani announced the creation of India’s largest AI-ready data centre in Jamnagar. Through Jio, Reliance will also launch a people-first artificial intelligence platform aimed at making AI affordable and accessible to every Indian. The platform will enable citizens to access AI services in their own language, on their own devices, enhancing everyday efficiency and productivity, starting from Gujarat.

5. Partnering for India’s Olympic ambitions and social progressThe Reliance Foundation will partner with the Government of Gujarat to support India’s bid to host the 2036 Olympic Games in Ahmedabad. As part of this commitment, Reliance will help manage the Veer Savarkar Multisports Complex in Naranpura, positioning it as a hub for national and international sporting events and for training India’s future champions. Ambani also announced the establishment of a world-class hospital in Jamnagar and a significant expansion of Reliance’s education initiatives in the region.

Concluding his address, Ambani said Gujarat is not just a location for Reliance but its “body, heart, and soul,” reiterating that the group is a Gujarati company rooted in the state and dedicated to the service of the nation. He credited Prime Minister Modi’s leadership for restoring India’s civilisational self-belief and steering the country from “potential to performance” and from “aspiration to action.”

Calling the present period “India’s defining decade,” Ambani said that under the Prime Minister’s leadership, India is not merely preparing for the future but actively shaping it, with industry eager to contribute to this national journey from Saurashtra and Kutch
