DFCCIL achieves highest-ever interchange performance

NEW DELHI : DFCCIL achieved its highest-ever interchange performance on 11 January 2026, marking a major operational milestone for the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) network.

The DFC network, comprising the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) and Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) , handled 892+2 trains, surpassing the previous record of 865+4 trains set on 04 January 2026.

Within this, the WDFC demonstrated exceptional operational performance with 392+2 trains, exceeding its earlier best of 380 trains recorded on 03 January 2026.

These milestone represents not just operational progress, but a strengthening of India’s freight hashtag#logistics ecosystem. High interchange performance delivers several key benefits:

  • Faster movement of goods across industrial, agricultural, and EXIM supply chains
  • Greater modal shift from road to rail, leading to safer, greener, and more efficient logistics
  • Decongestion of Indian Railways’ passenger routes, enabling smoother and more reliable passenger train operations

The achievement reflects the coordinated efforts of teams across operations, control, maintenance, and partner agencies who work continuously to keep freight moving seamlessly.
