Gujarat unveils State Integrated Logistics Master Plan with ₹1.80 Lakh Crore Project Shelf till 2047

RAJKOT: In a major step towards strengthening its position as India’s logistics and manufacturing powerhouse, the Government of Gujarat has launched the State Integrated Logistics Master Plan (ILMP) along with City Logistics Plans (CLPs) for Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar and Junagadh. The initiative, aligned with the State Logistics Policy, outlines a robust project shelf exceeding ₹1.80 lakh crore for the period 2026–2047.

The plans were formally unveiled during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conclave (VGRC) held at Rajkot on January 12, 2026, in the august presence of Shri Jayram Gamit, Hon’ble Minister of Industries, along with Mayors and Municipal Commissioners of the respective cities. The programme was steered by the Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board (GIDB), the state’s nodal agency for infrastructure planning and development.

Integrated Vision for Logistics Growth

The State Integrated Logistics Master Plan provides a long-term, multimodal framework to enhance efficiency across road, rail, port, air and warehousing infrastructure. It aims to reduce logistics costs, improve supply chain resilience, and support Gujarat’s expanding industrial and export ecosystem, in line with national logistics reforms and PM Gati Shakti principles.

Complementing the state-level roadmap, the City Logistics Plans focus on addressing urban freight challenges such as congestion, last-mile connectivity, land use optimisation and environmental sustainability. Tailored city-specific interventions have been identified to improve freight movement within municipal limits while supporting economic activity and quality of life.

Key Focus Areas

  • Development of logistics parks, multimodal hubs and freight terminals
  • Improved port-led and industrial corridor connectivity
  • Streamlined urban freight and last-mile delivery systems
  • Digital integration and data-driven logistics planning
  • Sustainable and low-emission logistics solutions

Boost to Industry and Investment

Officials noted that the combined master plan is expected to significantly enhance Gujarat’s competitiveness as a preferred investment destination, particularly for manufacturing, MSMEs, exports and e-commerce. The long-term project pipeline of over ₹1.80 lakh crore provides clarity and confidence to investors, developers and logistics service providers.

With the launch of the ILMP and CLPs, Gujarat has reaffirmed its commitment to building a future-ready, integrated and sustainable logistics ecosystem—supporting economic growth, employment generation and urban efficiency across the state.
