A high-level delegation from Sri Lanka visits GIFT City under ICCR distinguished visitors programme
GANDHINAGAR : A high-level delegation led by Mr. Tilvin Silva, General Secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), visited GIFT City under the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR)’s Distinguished Visitors Programme. The visit was aimed at gaining firsthand insights into the vision, regulatory architecture, and growth trajectory of India’s premier international financial services hub.
The delegation included Members of Parliament, senior political leaders, media representatives, and officials from ICCR and the High Commission of India in Colombo. During the visit, the delegation was apprised of GIFT City’s development as a global financial and FinTech hub, its progressive regulatory framework under the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), and its role in strengthening India’s position in the global financial ecosystem.
Interactive sessions were held to facilitate discussions on financial innovation, cross-border investments, regulatory best practices, and the expanding opportunities within India’s FinTech landscape. The exchange enabled a constructive dialogue on policy perspectives and the potential for deeper collaboration in financial services and digital innovation.
The visit further underscored the shared commitment of India and Sri Lanka to enhance bilateral engagement and regional cooperation, particularly in the areas of financial services, innovation, and economic development.
The engagement is expected to pave the way for greater knowledge exchange and strengthened institutional partnerships between the two countries.
