The logistics industry that provides foundations for trade and commerce is applying too. More investment continues to be made in green transport modes and clean technologies and the multimodal infrastructure, however digital technology is gaining ground as an equally important factor for sustainable freight initiatives.

Freight transport’s environmental impact is generally affected by inefficiencies such as time wasted, unnecessary routes taken, and delays in the supply chain. While these problems might be solved with the help of logistics infrastructure, they could also be handled by using good data.
