MUMBAI: In a major step towards expanding Chennai Port’s global maritime footprint, Chennai Port Authority (ChPA) conducted a strategic business outreach in Mumbai, led by Shri Sachin S. Kurve, IAS, Chairman, Chennai Port Authority. The high-level delegation engaged with leading shipping lines and maritime stakeholders to explore new avenues for collaboration and cargo growth.
The meetings focused on strengthening long-term partnerships with the shipping industry, enhancing trade connectivity and identifying opportunities to attract new container and cargo services through Chennai Port.
During the interactions, Shri Sachin S. Kurve highlighted Chennai Port Authority’s commitment to providing efficient, customer-centric and future-ready port infrastructure. He showcased the port’s ongoing efforts to improve operational efficiency, reduce turnaround time, enhance multimodal connectivity and support seamless EXIM trade.
The discussions also explored opportunities to expand direct shipping services, increase transshipment and gateway cargo volumes, and develop customised logistics solutions for exporters and importers. Industry stakeholders exchanged views on emerging trade routes, evolving supply chain requirements and strategies to improve Chennai Port’s competitiveness in the regional and global maritime network.
The business outreach forms part of Chennai Port Authority’s broader strategy to strengthen engagement with shipping lines, logistics operators and trade partners while positioning Chennai as a resilient and preferred gateway for India’s growing international trade.
