BENGALURU/NEW DELHI: Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) has achieved another notable milestone in its rail freight operations, with its “Assured Transit Time” domestic container service completing a 2,509-km journey from ICD Whitefield (WFD), Bengaluru, to Tughlakabad (TKD), New Delhi, via ICD Tondiarpet (TNPM), significantly ahead of its scheduled transit time.
According to CONCOR, the domestic container rake covered the WFD–TNPM–TKD route in 141 hours and 55 minutes, compared with the scheduled transit time of 166 hours. The service therefore arrived approximately 24 hours and five minutes ahead of schedule, highlighting the reliability and efficiency of CONCOR’s assured-transit offering.
The performance is particularly significant given the length of the route, which connects major logistics and industrial centres in southern India with the National Capital Region. Consistent transit performance on such long-distance corridors can provide cargo owners with greater predictability in supply-chain planning, inventory management and delivery schedules.

CONCOR’s “Assured Transit Time” service is aimed at providing customers with greater certainty over the movement of domestic containerised cargo by offering a defined transit-time commitment. The latest performance reinforces the potential of rail-based logistics to provide a dependable alternative for long-distance freight movement.
The successful movement between Bengaluru and New Delhi also underscores the importance of efficient rail connectivity between major inland container depots and consumption and production centres across the country.
CONCOR has stated that the Assured Transit Time service operates every Saturday, providing a regular rail-freight option for customers seeking predictable movement between the southern and northern regions.
The next rake under the service is scheduled for Saturday, 12 September 2026.
