Krishnapatnam Port has augmented its silo-loading infrastructure by adding a feeding conveyor, enabling two silos to operate simultaneously and improving loading efficiency.

With the addition of a mechanised berth, the port now has six mechanised berths and is capable of handling Capesize vessels, each of which can carry more than one lakh tonnes of cargo.

The port has set a target of loading 25 million tonnes of freight by rail during the current financial year, against 22.7 million tonnes achieved in the previous financial year, SCoR officials said in a release on Saturday.
