KOCHI : The Cochin Port Authority (CoPA) has been conferred with the Award for Excellence in the Maritime Sector in recognition of its contribution to the maritime industry and the development of Kerala’s port and maritime ecosystem.
The award was presented by Shri V. D. Satheesan, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, during the World Maritime Day celebrations organised by the Kerala Maritime Board in Kochi on September 24, 2026.
Shri Satish Honnakkatte, Deputy Chairperson, Cochin Port Authority, received the award on behalf of the Port Authority.
The recognition highlights the important role played by Cochin Port in supporting Kerala’s maritime sector and strengthening the state’s connectivity with national and international trade networks.
The World Maritime Day programme brought together leaders, officials and representatives from various segments of the maritime industry, providing a platform to recognise contributions to the sector and discuss the continued development of Kerala’s maritime ecosystem.
Cochin Port has been an important maritime gateway for Kerala, supporting containerised cargo, bulk and other maritime trade while contributing to the wider logistics and economic activities of the region.
The award adds another recognition to Cochin Port Authority’s ongoing efforts towards improving port operations, strengthening maritime connectivity and contributing to the growth of India’s maritime sector.
