DPA Kandla sets new national record with 9.64 lakh MT cargo handling in a single day

Kandla Port surpasses its own previous national record, reinforcing its position as a leading maritime and cargo-handling hub

GANDHIDHAM: Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, has achieved a new milestone in cargo handling by recording 9,63,951 metric tonnes (MT) of cargo in a single day, setting a new national record in daily cargo handling.

The latest achievement surpasses DPA Kandla’s previous national record of 9,03,904 MT, registered on September 7, 2026. The new performance represents an increase of 60,047 MT, or approximately 6.64 per cent, over the earlier record.

The achievement highlights the port’s operational capabilities, efficient cargo-handling infrastructure and coordinated efforts of its stakeholders in facilitating high-volume maritime trade.

With this latest milestone, Deendayal Port Authority continues to set new benchmarks in cargo-handling efficiency, strengthening Kandla’s role as an important gateway for India’s EXIM trade.

The record also reflects the port’s continued focus on improving operational productivity and supporting the growing requirements of India’s logistics and maritime sector.
