WRI’s assessment
India’s Logistics Growth Index advanced to 57.0 in September, a 1.7-point gain propelled by robust festive-season demand and accelerated business volume. All ten sub-indices registered expansion, with transportation and warehousing leading the upward momentum as pre-positioning of goods and expanded fulfillment networks supported freight movement.
“The festive season drove India’s reading higher in September: port cargo grew strongly, warehouse demand reached multi-year highs and logistics hiring expanded sharply to meet seasonal needs.”— Stephen Poh, Principal Economist, World Research Institute.
