Adani Group is interested to invest ₹1,800 Cr in Agri & Logistic Hub in Bahraich
BAHRAICH : The Adani Group has proposed to invest Rs 1,800 crore to develop agriculture and logistic hub in Bahraich, keeping in view the huge agriculture possibilities in Terai region. The project would directly engage about 83,000 youths of the district, according to the proposal.
The district administration is on its toes to complete all the formalities at a faster pace so that proposed investment could take shape on grounds.
Bahraich, adjoining the Indo-Nepal border, is rich in water, forest areas and agricultural produce and connecting it with Poorvanchal can bring huge opportunities to the district.
Deputy Commissioner, Industries, Virendra Kumar said that according to the new industrial park policy issued by the state government, 90% of the amount spent on the purchase of land or for the development of installation facilities, will be reimbursed, when an industrial park is developed in the private sector in an area of 10 acres to 50 acres, at the rate of one percent per annum.
DM Dinesh Chandra said that 155 investment proposals worth Rs 4,322.46 crore have been received so far.
DM said that with the implementation of the investment proposals, the district will get a new identity in the industrial sector along with agriculture. “It will ensure that our educated and skilled youth do not have to migrate in search of employment,” the DM said while promising all possible cooperation to investors for the development of private industrial parks.
