Capt. B. K. Tyagi assumes charge as Director (L&PS), SCI

Capt. Binesh Kumar Tyagi has taken over as Director, Liner and Passenger Services (L&PS), Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) on January 8, 2021, informed an official communiqué.

In his distinguished career spanning over 30 years in SCI, he has held many responsible positions, both afloat and ashore. After graduation, Capt. Tyagi joined SCI’s Maritime Training Institute in 1990 as a Trainee Nautical Officer Cadet. He served on board various ships, in different ranks, including as Master. In 2004, he was absorbed ashore, wherein he served at various management levels, in the Technical, Vetting, Chartering, Training and Fleet Personnel Departments.

Capt. Tyagi is a dynamic and experienced shipping professional with qualifications in Ship Operations, Navigation, General Management, Shipping Management and Law. Given his rich experience in various aspects of shipping, SCI will steer a steady course striving towards excellence, the release emphasised.
