CBIC clarifies several queries related to Electronic Cash Ledger raised by EXIM trade / customs brokers

NEW DELHI :  In a series of tweets, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), under the Ministry of Finance clarified several queries pertaining to Electronic Cash Ledger, raised by the EXIM Trade / Customs Brokers on May 6th.

Customs duty amount

To a query related to the custom duty amount being not integrated with ICES, it replied, “If the amount is not integrated with ICES, the amount will be credited to ECL Wallet. Users are requested to share specific details if still facing any issues.”

Visibility of Challan

In reply to challan’s visibility issue, it said that “as soon as challans are made available by ICES, the same are displayed to the users on ICEGATE for payment.”

ECL Topup

To a query related to ECL’s top-up amount being credited, it said, “ECL Topup amount gets credited in the wallet if the transaction is successful between Banks/RBI and ICEGATE. Enquiry for the top-up challans is also available on ICEGATE to check the latest status.”

Ledger in Excel format

CBIC also replied in a tweet that “trade has desired for a separate option to download ledger in EXCEL format for the convenience of reconciliation of payments at their end. This functionality is under development and will be made live soon.”

Tracking customs brokers-based reports

Further, the CBIC also noted, “Functionality to track Customs Brokers based reports for transactions is under development and shall be provided to users soon.”
