DP World’s ICTT elevates excellence with Mega Max cranes
KOCHI : The International Container Transhipment Terminal (ICTT) operated by DP World in Cochin has announced the arrival of two cutting-edge STS (Ship-to-Shore) Mega Max cranes at its terminal.
This strategic move aligns seamlessly with ICTT’s unwavering commitment to expansion and modernisation, reinforcing its position as the premier gateway for South India and a key transhipment terminal for the entire nation.
Standing at an impressive height of 51 meters under the spreader bar and boasting an outreach of 67 meters, these Mega Max cranes have the capacity to handle up to 25 container rows in width. The addition of these state-of-the-art quay cranes to ICTT’s existing fleet marks a significant enhancement in the terminal’s productivity. With increased lift capacity and the capability to handle ultra-large container vessels (ULCVs), ICTT is poised for heightened efficiency in cargo handling.
According to Praveen Thomas Joseph, CEO, DP World Cochin, DP World is committed to continuously elevating operational excellence and customer service standards. The addition of the two mega max quay cranes, coupled with the recently acquired four e-RTGs, strengthens ICTTs ability to efficiently move the world’s cargo, enabling customers from the region to transport their volumes safely, swiftly, and sustainably for decades to come.
