Marking the occasion, Shri Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME, Chairman DPA chaired an interactive meeting outlining the Port’s roadmap to becoming a Green Hydrogen Hub.Celebrating innovation, investment & India’s confidence in the renewable energy revolution.

On 8 October 2025, Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, observed World Hydrogen Day 2025, underlining its commitment to a cleaner, carbon-neutral maritime future. The celebration was marked by announcements, workshops, and reaffirmation of the port’s role as a burgeoning green hydrogen hub.

The official communication from DPA noted that the occasion would spotlight “innovation, investment & India’s growing confidence in the renewable energy transition.”

The port’s GH₂ Centre of Excellence in Gandhidham played a central role in the observance, serving as a venue for thematic exhibits and knowledge sessions.

The event also integrated with other capacity-building efforts, including a one-day workshop titled “Hydrogen — Next Generation Fuel: Pathway & Challenges”, organized in collaboration with IIT BHU (Banaras Hindu University)

DPA’s hydrogen initiatives represent a bold step in port decarbonisation, particularly for hard-to-electrify operations like maritime fuel, port vehicles, and auxiliary services.
