Dr. Sanjeev Ranjan, MoPSW Secretary chairs high-level meet on Logistics, Infrastructure & Shipping

NEW DELHI: The Secretary of MoPSW, Dr. Sanjeev Ranjan chaired a high-level level meeting on ‘Logistics, Infrastructure & Shipping (including Transhipment)-Promotion of Blue Economy’ to address the emerging concerns of Blue Economy.

Recently during the Maritime India Summit held in March 2021, Shri Narendra Modi had said Blue Economy is going to be an important source of Aatamnirbhar Bharat.

Meeting witnessed the presence of 90+stakeholders from various ministries like MEA, MoPNG, MNRE, MoEFCC, MoD, DEA (MoF), MoE, Chairman of Major Ports, Chief Secretaries of Coastal States/UTs & CEOs of State Maritime Boards apart from officials from EXIM Bank, IRS, INSA, IPA etc.

Basis inputs from these working groups, MoPSW would draft the final action plan for implementation and submit to BECC.

MoPSW along with other Ministries and stakeholders will work together in relevant working groups towards promoting Blue Economy.

Right pointing backhand index Subject-specific officers will take charge of these working groups as Coordinators & lead the deliberations for their next 2 months to further.
