Exporters wary of developing situation in Myanmar
Indian exporters fear trouble in transactions with Myanmar as some shipping lines have suspended operations while others are going slow due to the ongoing unrest in the country. Shipping lines are taking a cautious call on Myanmar as they do not want to take a risk and get their containers stuck. Exporters foresee challenges ahead if the situation doesn’t improve, said a report.
The problem is not only related to Customs operations but also connected to logistics and warehousing. There have been delays in the clearance of containers shipped from India as factories in Myanmar are either not operating in full capacity or have temporarily shut down, the report added.
